Fresh thinking for Philips fixtures

The Challenge

The beauty sector is intensely competitive, and with the stakes continuing to rise, Philips needed to take a step back from the fixture and gain a fresh perspective and introduce a new creative approach.

Most importantly, the constant increase online shopping made it crucial for Philips to ensure their retail fixtures are encouraging people to buy at that very moment.

However, where potential customers had always been able to interact freely with Philips’ products, increasing damage and theft in retailers meant new, innovative approaches needed to be explored.

Our Approach

Time was of the essence, previous quality issues made the brand and retailer nervous, and we were working to a six week turnaround.

Our goal was to create a retail fixture that didn’t just showcase the shaving models and educate shoppers of their features and benefits,  but also managed to protect the products from theft and damage whilst still catching the eye near and far, and not letting security measures dampen the look.

Working closely with Philips’ European brand team to prioritise visual consistency and continuity, we then developed prototypes to test different materials and structures, pulling on our production expertise to influence the design process and avoid manufacturing issues.

“With only a 6-week turnaround, the design process was seamless and the finished unit looks great and is robust enough to sustain transit and longevity in store.
Great job.”
